Photographer Biography

My interest in photography began at age eleven when I was given my first Kodak Brownie camera. When in high school I purchased my first 35mm camera and limited darkroom equipment.

"Color and light attract my attention and help me connect with the ”moment”. Photography allows me to capture such fleeting impressions and to turn them into lasting images for others to experience as well. These moments are retained as prints or pixels and then copied and adjusted to create a final digital print."

A formal study of photography included classes at Chabot College and UC Santa Cruz Extension. In addition workshops with Ansel Adams, Morley Bear, Ruth Bernhard, Barbara Brundage, Michael Frye, Harold Davis, Barry Haynes, Carol Leigh, John Sexton, and others have been a wonderful way to learn and improve my craft.

I have taught photography at Bishop O'Dowd High school, and am currently teaching  Digital Workshop, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Photoshop Elements  at Castro Valley Adult School.

Manipulating photos on the computer rather than in the darkroom has proven to be a very enjoyable experience, and I continue to learn new ways of using this exciting medium with its endless possibilities.

My subject matter includes landscape, macro and travel Images.

I have exhibited my  work in the Bay Area at the following locations: Bank of the West, Castro Valley Adult School, CV Center for the Arts, Castro Valley Library, Hagan Chiropractic, Palomares Cafe, and Photo Central.
